Papilloma removal
Papillomas are formed as a result of the of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) penetration into the organism. This virus is very common among the population, it can be acquired from a sick person or an HPV carrier in several ways, the most common of which are contact or community-acquired infection (through common objects and close contact) and sexual. However, the virus carriage is often asymptomatic (during the incubation period), which makes it much more difficult to prevent.
Papilloma requires follow-up by a dermatologist, treatment and removal even if it does not cause any physical or aesthetic inconvenience.
How to treat papilloma? Our clinic uses the following methods to remove papilloma: radio wave removal, laser removal and cryodestruction.
Indications
Papilloma requires mandatory follow-up and regular visits to a dermatologist to monitor the condition of this lesion.
The presence of papilloma in itself is already an indication for its removal.
If a papilloma deformation occurs (change of color, growth, swelling, peeling, bleeding, itching in this area), the lesion must be removed.
Also the reason for papilloma removal may be aesthetic or any other inconvenience caused by it.
Contraindications
Contraindications to papilloma removal include exacerbation of skin pathologies, acute infectious diseases with characteristic symptoms, chronic diseases in the acute or decompensation stage, and epilepsy.
This manipulation should be performed with caution in the presence of cancer; radio-wave removal is not recommended.
In pregnancy and lactation, in the presence of a pacemaker, and history of keloid scars, it is preferable to use the cryodestruction method.
Anesthesia
Papilloma removal is performed using local anesthesia.
Treatment
When preparing for the treatment, it is advisable to cancel the visit to the solarium 2 weeks before it, because after the removal white spots on the skin may remain.
Radio wave (high frequency) removal:
When it comes to the removal of a neoplasm by radio wave method, special equipment is used, affecting the papilloma by radio waves of the required power. The tissues are heated to the temperature of irreversible protein coagulation. This leads to the destruction of papilloma and cleansing of the skin after regeneration. The advantage is a point effect - minimizing damage to the surrounding tissues.
Papilloma removal by laser:
When removing the papilloma by laser, the laser beam, due to the high temperature, destroys the neoplasm, while having a decontaminating effect. The treatment is fast, pointed and painless. The skin recovers quickly, no scars or burns are left.
Cryodestruction:
The removal of papillomas in our center is also done by cryodestruction. Its principle lies in the effect of very low temperatures on the neoplasm. The desired effect is achieved by using liquid nitrogen. The result is the death of the affected cells. This method is absolutely safe, as it is allowed even for people with pacemakers, pregnant women and women during lactation.
With the cryodestruction method, the papilloma removal does not occur immediately; the destruction is gradual, through the formation of a necrotic crust. The inflammatory process may not be fully completed, in which case repeated cryodestruction is necessary.
Result
The result is quick, precise, pointed and painless of one or more neoplasms without damage to healthy cells and tissues. It is absolutely safe.
After the recovery period, the skin at the papilloma site remains clean, without scars or any traces.
Recovery
Depending on the size of the papilloma, the recovery period may last from one to two weeks.
The wound after removal requires careful and attentive care: it should be treated with an antiseptic solution and special ointments, at first it is forbidden to wet, it is not recommended to apply adhesive tapes.
Afterwards, it is better to start using creams that protect against ultraviolet radiation.
